MISSING TRAVEL

I woke up earlier than usual today. As I looked out my window to get a morning glimpse of the Verrazzano bridge, I remembered the feeling of leaving for vacation. The sky was a blue that reminded me of a soft washed out denim shirt that you never want to take off. The sun was not up yet, and the lights of the bridge reminded me that a new day was about to start. I could reminisce on that feeling of my suitcase packed and having a cup of coffee before my car picks me up for the airport. Hearing my suitcase wheels echoing to the elevator while everyone else was asleep in their apartments. The excitement of a new trip and the calmness knowing the next few days I will be being taken to another unknown country, I always wanted to see. Another place to cross off my checklist. The anticipation of meeting new people, trying new delicacies and experiencing a new culture. As I feel restless that I cannot travel immediately, in my heart I feel this is only a momentary pause and sooner then I know, I will return to a life that may not be what it was, but I hope will be better!

I do not know where I will be going next, but I will be wearing that favorite denim shirt as a reminder until then.
