The Door to Opportunity

When I pay attention, I can see doors appear in my daily life. I never know what is on the other side, but the question I ask myself is, “Am I willing to take the chance to open one?” Sometimes it is my curiosity that turns the handle. Other times it’s excitement and willingness to explore my own life further. Whatever it may be that motivates me to take that next step, I am never disappointed. My life is a journey where I will see new places, meet new people, and have new experiences. It will never stop until I am ready to leave here. The more I experience, the richer my life becomes. Therefore, I believe I am here to savor everything my life has to offer!

I try to say yes to any opportunity that is offered to me because I never know what I might miss out on. Someone invites me to a party; I hesitate because I am not extremely outgoing among strangers. I go anyway and have the time of my life. I meet someone who I want to get to know better.

I get laid off from my job, I am nervous of what will happen for my future but when I put one foot in front of the other, I land a better job. I have learned that if I stay stuck in the past and sulk over what has already been done, I do not see the doorways that will lead me somewhere new. Instead, I am distracted by the doors that have already closed.

As I get older and look back behind me there are miles of open doors and I do not regret opening any one of them! I am right where I am supposed to be!
